Coaching The Beginning Driver™
More and more states are implementing graduated licensing requirements for teenage beginning drivers. In most, if not all circumstances, parental involvement is listed as a critical component of the requirements. Although well-intentioned, most parents are unsure of the best way to "coach" their new driver; what techniques should be emphasized, when and how to offer advice, and would welcome help in raising their teenager's driver safety awareness.
This Coaching The Beginning Driver video coaches the student but and the parent! With this innovative program, teenage drivers can take a step past the basics to real defensive driving. This video/DVD teaches teens driving skills and techniques including:scanning for hazards, reading the traffic flow, keeping a safety cushion around the vehicle, positioning the vehicle, and handling intersections and turns. For the parents it offers practical advice on how to be an effective one-on-one driving coach, suggesting ways to establish a positive learning environment and guidelines for instructing the new driver while on the road.
